About me:
I was born in Atlanta but grew up in St. Petersburg back when it was a small, quiet city much like New Smyrna Beach is today.
My Georgia roots called me home and I graduated from the
University of Georgia with a degree in Journalism. Since then, I've
done masters coursework in Distance Education at the University of
Maryland.
Prior to moving to New Smyrna, I lived and worked for many years in Tallahassee, the state capital. I worked in both the public and private sectors serving in multiple state agencies (Departments of Education, State, Revenue and Agriculture), reporting for the daily newspaper and working for an international bridge-design engineering firm (Sunshine Skyway, Linn Cove Viaduct, Seven Mile Bridge).
Soon after relocating here, my husband and I bought an old home in the mainland historic district and renovated it ourselves. This past year our home was chosen to be included in the Holiday Tour of Homes sponsored by the Atlantic Center for the Arts.
I am a licensed Florida real estate broker and received the Graduate Realtor Institute designation (GRI) in 2008. I was appointed by the city commimssion to serve on the Code Enforcement Board and from time to time write for the Observer newspaper. My husband is the executive director of the Marine Discovery Center, one of our town's special attractions. Here's a link to MDC.
